Description
Nissan introduced the latest facelift for the Patrol in September 2019, but only now has a hotter version of the NISMO been revealed in the updated look. The body-on-frame SUV known as the Armada looks decidedly more aggressive than the standard model thanks to a slimmer body kit and several red accents inside and out
The high-performance Patrol rides on massive 22-inch wheels and adopts an elegant Formula 1-like LED fog light, flanked by a rear diffuser and a pair of large exhaust tips. To distance it from the regular shape, Nissan changed the front grille by giving it a honeycomb pattern, emblazoned with a NISMO badge to reinforce the point at home.
At the heart of the Patrol Nismo is a naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V8 making 428 horsepower and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque as before, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. This makes it 28 horsepower more powerful than the standard Patrol V8 with the same amount of torque. Nismo has tinkered with the suspension by giving it a Bilstein setting for sharp cornering, about as good as it can be on such a grate.
